Overcoming Agent Conflicts of Interest

You can't serve to masters

In traditional real estate, agents often claim to represent the seller — but the truth is more complicated. Most operate in a system built on divided loyalties, juggling relationships with both vendors and buyers. They may market your home, but they’re also driven to close a deal — any deal — as quickly as possible.

When one agent stands between both parties, whose interests truly come first? Yours, or the buyer’s? Or worse, their own interests? And when the offer lands below expectations, who are they really negotiating for?

At The Owners Agency, we remove that conflict entirely. We represent one side only — the vendor. Our focus is protecting your price, your position, and your priorities.

We work conjunctionally with local agents who act as Buyers’ Agents, representing the buyer exclusively. They’re compensated by us for finding and managing the buyer, so this clear separation costs you no more than a traditional sale — but delivers far greater integrity and confidence.

No conflict. No compromise. Just genuine representation — isn’t that how every property sale should be?

A quick note before you dive in:

We share what we’ve learned to help property owners make confident decisions — but we don’t yet know your personal goals or financial situation. So while we hope our advice gets you thinking in the right direction, it’s general in nature and not legal or financial advice.

We’d honestly hate to see anyone make a big decision based purely on what’s on our website — so let’s talk! Book a chat with one of our Owners Agents and we’ll look at your situation together, create a plan that fits, and help you sell with clarity and confidence.
