Early Offers Are Good Offers
Don’t Miss the Moment
It’s easy to get excited when the first offer comes in and think, “If someone’s keen already, imagine what else is out there!” But here’s the thing — early offers are often the best offers.
Why? Because serious buyers don’t muck around. These are people who’ve been in the market for 3, 6, even 12 months. They’ve done the Saturday open-home circuit. They’ve missed out before. They know exactly what they want — and your home ticks all the boxes.
There’s something called buyer fatigue. These buyers are over the stress and ready to act. If they come in strong and early, it’s usually because they’re purchase-ready and they really don’t want to miss out again.
Seller Insight:
Agents often get a bad rap for applying “pressure” when an early offer comes in — but in this case, they’re usually right. Experienced agents know strong early offers are worth chasing. It’s not pressure for pressure’s sake — it’s about recognising a serious opportunity before it slips away.
So don’t see an early offer as “just the beginning” — see it for what it likely is: a motivated, qualified buyer who’s ready to seal the deal. Rather than holding out for something “better,” focus on negotiating a win-win. A good early offer isn’t a teaser — it’s an opportunity.
A quick note before you dive in:
We share what we’ve learned to help property owners make confident decisions — but we don’t yet know your personal goals or financial situation. So while we hope our advice gets you thinking in the right direction, it’s general in nature and not legal or financial advice.
We’d honestly hate to see anyone make a big decision based purely on what’s on our website — so let’s talk! Book a chat with one of our Owners Agents and we’ll look at your situation together, create a plan that fits, and help you sell with clarity and confidence.
